
Revised PC-I Approved for Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway
Islamabad: The National Highway Authority (NHA)
Executive Board has approved the submission of Project Concept-I (PC-I) for the Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway.
The project is considered a game changer for the relevant areas and public associated with this project.

The kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway spans over a vast area of 117.2 kilometers and will be
connecting Rawalpindi to Kharian. It will run parallel to the N-5 route, passing through
several areas and ending at T-Chowk Rawat. The project cost is estimated at PKR 169.323
Billion, which is an increased cost from the previous cost of PKR 108.41 Billion.
The new cost also includes a Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of PKR 40 Billion.
The NHA Chairman, Arshad Majeed Mohmand also approved the project qualification proposal
for endorsement by the Public Private Partnership Authority (P3A). Previously, the project
was approved by the ECNEC in January 2022.
