
CDA Establishes ‘New Directorate’ to Address Urban Challenges in Capital
Dubai: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has established a new Wing, the “Directorate of
Regulation, Re-planning, and Regeneration”. The aim is to address newly developing challenges in the Federal Capital.

According to the sources, the initiative by the CDA is oriented towards managing rapid urban expansion in the Capital effectively
and efficiently. The newly established Directorate under the Member Planning and Development will especially focus on managing the
matters pertaining to the developing private housing societies in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
The CDA has also signaled the appointment of a “Planning Officer” of Grade 19 to head the Directorate. The establishment of this
Wing is taken after recommendations from the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice. The recently taken step is considered
much-needed for addressing urban complexities.
